Thanks, Ted. It is a strange sensation. The '94 quake almost knocked us right out of bed. Our dog had been trying to get us up and we told him to shut up. Nowadays, we listen to our animals! Earthquakes, tornados, floods--it's all out there and we're just puny human beings. Gotta do the best we can. Thanks for sharing. Eileen

I was there in 1994 (in Anaheim) for the quake. I was in the lobby of the Grand Hotel, all glassed two-storey front. I never knew glass could stretch that much without breaking. A guest on the 12th floor called down to ask if he should come down to the ground floor. I told him he would be better off to stay where he was and ride it down if the building crumbled (that way, he'd be on top of the rubble). Afterward, we were all amazed at the lack of structural damage. Glad you are okay. You might think about leaving, though, in case the next one is the BIG one! ~Ted

Glad you are safe and not injured. They said some were injured. You are smart to get away from the power lines as you did. Thanks for informing us that you are o.k.
