Oh Eileen, I agree with you on that. Some days one does not even want to turn on the news, especially when it is repeated over and over again.
I felt sorry for our newscaster reporting on Monday as it was all about drownings, killings etc. She started out chipper but I think even she was getting depressed. It would be nice to see the news possibly repeat good things?? At least it would lift up the spirits of the reporter and the audience. You said it well, "tabloid television," and that's too bad because the news is important to people.
