Thank you, everyone, for your comments. We did notify the police and give descriptions and also held a neighborhood meeting. We are on hyper alert. Worried only about my MIL when I run an errand or walk the dogs. . .the neighbors have said they will be aware. Appreciate that no one thought it was rude to turn them away, "unneighborly" but life in LA is not good right now. e

Being a North California we were lucky of having not the LA scares, although we never hesitated to honk the Sheriff on second after if someone did knock on our door with a lame excuse.
I had a hundred pounds big Alsatian Shepherd Dog that would have that two for lunch if they had tried anything funny.

Agree with Linda on this one strongly in fact you should not only report but also consider an alarm system or at the least a rooftop web cam system with signs denoting it.

Did you report this to the police? You should, and give a description of both people...this is in order to avoid someone being hurt or worse! (My mom was murdered in a home invasion...so I speak from experience!)... Do not let this go unreported...you could save a life..maybe even your own!.... hugs, lindalaw
