hmmmmm. . .wedge etymology. Old English, Middle Low German, Dutch:
wegge, a bread roll!

I lack the whimsy gene to think of wedgie.

It's no coincidence I suppose that wedge starts with "W". Mostly positive blog though. Did you consider the derivatives? Wedgie for example.
