Arnie Vogel is a character in my unpublished novel, STRANGERS ARE FROM ZEUS. I never used any of that stuff in the actual novel, but it's a way to develop characters that I got from THE WEEKEND NOVELIST by Robert Ray, the most helpful writing book I've read, and I've read Gardner and most of the other writing gurus.
