I hope you find your son. On a less important note, the Publishing Industry can be a rough ride. We need to be careful when we select our Publisher.I hope you find one you are happy with.

I pay an "annual inventory" price of $18 to keep my book available...does that sound right? Anyway..I've had both POD and publisher pays all...guess we could write a book on all the stuff that they promise but take instead...?? Ed, I too am very interested in your project, and perhaps if it works out ok...you can get some of us to publish with you?? I am debating on my publisher for the 3rd & 4th books...so let me know... I have already had the first one done and it's doing ok..and the 2nd one is paid for and in process, while I was planning on submitting the 3rd today!!! so.. I'd really like to know.
All that aside...I'm so sorry about your son..I did not know! How painful that must be. Is there anything that I can do? Plz just ask. Again...you are truly active nonetheless..and that's very admirable.. Good luck with all that you have going.. hugs, lindalaw

Ed, I will appreciate it very much if you will keep me posted on your publishing venture. This is a special interest for me since I teach classes in publishing (for authors) and marketing.

When I talked with Barnes & Nobel and Books-a-Million, they both said that they would not stock books on their shelves from any of the PODs because the PODs would not refund for returned books. Apparently, from what I gather, these dealers operate as consignment retailers for the publishers and the PODs choose not to operate that way. I may have gotten the wrong impression, but that was what I was told. As you say, dealing with the current crop of publishers can be a difficult adventure.

the best of luck to yoou on finding your son--i didn't know--also, i sure agree with the info on book price-it is the most difficult thing for me with my books
