Unutterably brilliant. Your words penetrate to the heart of the matter of war, of patriotism (the final refuge of a scoundrel?), and the unthinking brutality we inflict on ourselves and our world.
The brave people who have fought on all sides for so many causes, good or otherwise, are deserving of our compassion as much as our respect.
Yours is a powerful voice.
I wish your dear dogs peaceful journeys and a long reward for their years of devotion and selfless love. And I wish you the solace of memories, and possibly another puppy!
