As we are wont to say in the islands at this time of year, Melekalikimaka (which is, unfortunately, the Hawaiian idiom for 'Chr**tmas'. While I roundly condemn the religious ethos that underlies the holiday, I can at least enjoy the purely hedonistic aspects of the season. I failed to mention at the end of the piece that quantum physicists have lately toyed with the idea that if 'information' is equitable with a physics-based explanation of the Universe, then life as we know it could in fact be merely a very, very sophisticated 'computer' simulation. That's the wonderful thing about the abject ignorance of all human understandings to date...the fact that ANYTHING, no matter how fanciful, is possible when you have the cosmic awareness of a retarded Sea Slug (like me, LoL). Have a Happy Secular Holiday!
