"A Tale of Two Toilets (or, Waiting for the Sewer Man)"

PS: I got the same lackluster (lack of) response to several parts of 'MAROONED ON MOLOKA'I' that I wrote in a coffee shop in Kaunakakai. Mebbe it's a Hawai'ian thing, eh? Li dat! Malama pono!
Actually, David, I DID get a comment on this lengthy diatribe on the topic of nether-part ablutions technology. It came the day after I posted this blog in the form of a remark made by my 14-year-old Husky bitch immediately after she consumed the entire 10+ pages of a printed draft of the thing that had fallen off my desk. Her comment went something like this" WUUrrrrrf..woo-woo-woo...snarfle-burp...numnum...WOOF! Unfortunately, she speaks an arcane dialect of East Siberian Huskyese which I am largely ignorant of, so I still have no idea what she was trying to tell me. However, it all 'came out' the next day as a jumble of words on paper, thoroughly masticated and digested beyond recognition, in the local park during walkies. Thanx for the commiseration! :)
I agree. I noticed it 1998 and sat down at a coffee shop in Moiliili and wrote a 10,000 word essay on it. I did not get a single comment on it, which proves our case. We are an elite for sure.
