Dear Pat,
How beautifully said. I still can't bring myself to get another dog, after losing my golden lab, Remington, to a muscle wasting disease five years ago. I'm not sure I can't take another loss like that. He was going on 13 years old. Thanks for sharing such a poignant blog with us.

I am still grieving my dog Joy, a 13 yr old cocker spaniel that died the day before my birthday Oct 23, 03. She was like a baby to me and I loved her very much and hope she is waiting at the Heaven's gate to great me when I enter in. I do believe God won't keep our animals that passed from us. He has many mysteries to show us when we arrive. My dog was so precious and will never be replaced or forgotton.

Wishing you healing and love. There are more dogs waiting for homes, but the time will be right, and each dog must be grieved before making way for another. Each dog is one individual love. Eileen

Trully pets can be closer than some members of the family. You interact with them every day, take care of them, bond with them, love them. Their passing leaves a big hole.
My condolences for your friend and your losses.

No matter what dog passes, even though there will be other dogs, there will never be another THAT dog. Just like people. There will never be another person that can replace the one we just lost.
