Dear Pat,
I felt the same way about the writing and charactor developement but like you was hooked by the story and read all twelve. I always say there are two ways to write: you can tell a really good story and be a mediocre writer and sell like crazy, or be an excellent writer and have a mediocre story to tell. I think you which will sell best--sadly.
