Had it too...but that was before I discovered self-help books, which in turn, helped me to expand the definition of who I am...the definition of self. We are the product of our thoughts, our thoughts can make us high and it can make us sad. Yes we can control our thoughts, With the beleif in the timeless creed that shines a light on the path to a better world, 'There is a positive inside every negative situation,' in that, we can seek out the positive, dwell on it, and ignore the negative. Visit my site and you will see some of the emotional intelligence material that I have worked on.
Connie is beautiful! I am sure she will help to bring some love and joy into EVERY day. Animals are sensitive, and I believe we are drawn to the one/s we most need.
I'm sorry you are so blue Patricia...but the Collie is so beautiful...she should help...I hope! I too suffer from Depression, have all my life; never truly diagnosed with it...I always tell the dr's I have it...they tell me..."No...you are too well balanced...duh-duh"...a few times I've convinced a doc to try something so I'd get out of my funk...so I too have been the way of the meds you describe...except for Paxil (I've never used that one...but everyone I know has!) anyway...Prozac really almost drove me to suicide...and Zoloft made me want to break things, and...Wellbutrin helped most but the insurance wouldn't cover it... so I just got ticked and stopped taking everything, including hormones....so now...crazy as it seems...I feel better than I have in forever...it's been 3 yrs and I've taken nothing other than aspiren or something lite to sleep...(over the counter stuff)...and honestly...I feel like I can think... it seems that when I was on meds I was like a zombie of sorts, digging deeper into that hole or pitt...but now things are just brighter, altho I do tend to be sad at times, or have memories of hard times in the past, but I do my best to just dust it off... I do hope you can find someone to help you...it's just so awful to be in that place... and surely there are many others, even here on AD that can offer better info than I....just wish you the best... hugs, lindalaw
