I think DH and I are related. I put our grease in a can and freeze. One day, in the middle of winter, I put a can of grease on the deck railing so the birds could eat it. I even cut off both ends of the can. The sun shone brightly; it was -20F. The grease melted! And then the sun burnt it right into the wood. Honestly. Nobody was more surprised than me.
