Interesting thoughts, although I'm not sure I agree. Having just read a novel about the fall of Rome to "barbarians" from the East, I'm not sure that returning to small warring tribes is the best path for humankind.

Interesting comments Phyllis. For myself, I would wish that the US became a confederation of states without a central government, that Wales, England, Ireland and Scotland would find complete independence from Britain, that the EU would disband.

You see, small states diminish the powers of politicians, almost eliminate large scale warfare and generate cultural diversity.

I think every state in the US should be a sovereign state and that the drum of war should be diminished in range.

I'd like to see every small independent state in the world competing for skilled citizens with alternate lifestyles and tax schemes. I'd like humans to be free again - and the opposite happens under the aegis of modern day super-states.
