Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. Well I am only 14, so my Mom helped. We made bookmarks and I autographed the back of them. I also had the newspaper post a article, and they came to take pictures. I have called everywhere including big Grocery chains, they allowed me to do my signing in the book section.
I also had posters made of the cover of my book, this is not expensive at all. Then I posted them around town with the date an time. I also emailed alot of people that I know. I was nervous to. My book signing was suppose to be from 12-3 and I got there an hour early to set up, so I started 1/2 hour early selling, but people wanted to buy. Don't get discouraged, if an hour goes by and you only sell one. I had an hour I only had one, then I had over 20 in 1 hour. I went in to this not expecting much. I knew I could sell 1 book or 60. I also put candy out, and I said hello to everyone that walked by.
Also, if you plan to do the bookmarks, I had people go around the store with them and hand them out. This helped out alot. YOu will get people that do not care at all, and you have to just remember not everyone is going to want to read your book.
