I babysit two of our g kids five days a week until 4:30. I come home and put a cooked supper on the table for Fred everynight at five. Linda dear let the slow cooker become your best friend, you can cook ANYTHING in it and it ALWAYS comes out delicious. It is a never fail appliance. Place your roast in a pack of onion soup mix with water and let it go. Next day is stew, cut up some of the roast place it in the low cooker OF course with 1/2 a bag of mixed vegetables, pack of onion soup mix, chop up a few potatoes and a little thickening when the potatoes are cooked and it is to die for. I tell you it is the magic in my kitchen. Chicken soup use chicken broth etc.

Hi Linda:

I have one of those crock pot but I find that everything I cooked does not taste the same and I don't really like it. Say beef stew,for instance, and beef taste too soft, and the carrots do not taste like carrots, and the potatoes are always almost melted down to tiny cubes.

It seems to be more work to prepare the meat to go into the pot, for you have to brown the meat first by frying it before you put the meat in. It's just not as convenient as it sounds, so I have not used it in a while.

I've bought a very large triple decker steamer, to steam all my vegies; the meat I just put it in the conventional oven to cook. It comes out tastier that way, and won't become soggy!

I gave up cooking-and the microwave is my best friend, and of course-my sisters house. She is a great cook!
