Authors beware, in the often - fickle - world of publishing; publishing companies will almost stoop to anything for an extra dollar---forget it! Somehow, I believe you are already well aware; buy our Christmas as per usual, at a shop!

I think to advertise one's work in of all things a Christmas card is tacky and lacking taste. It is bad enough that business all too often take advantage of this but if we poets and artists go this route I think we will lose our own sense of self worth...just my two cents worth.

Thats way to high, I usually design my own Christmas cards, and for about twenty or thirrty of them I pay less than thirty dollars, I have the Print Master gretting card maker, and with that I can upload the pics of my book, or the pics from my digital camera, write my own message, and just print, the card stock I get it wal mart for like four or five dollars, and the Card Envelovpes run the same it was wonderful.

Linda, I am sure that you have much more e-mails in your list than real mail addresses.
Why send through snail when you can do through net?
Did somebody say that conversion through snail is better? For my knowledge, only in several cases it could be. But usually it's not.
Let you e-mail card be special and sent not the last moment, when people get from eveybody and stop reacting to them. E-mailing this way, nobody will be cross with you and you'll get reverse congrat or an order for the book. Who knows.

Sandie... $225.00 Dollars...two hundred twenty five dollars!!!!! not $22.50!!!!
Can you imagine???? Anyway... I like ya'lls ideas to do the print your own... so.. will look into it; altho I generally don't send out cards anymore... I know...bad!!! But it would be nice to "send cards to some of my buyers and fans etc....there will always be another book...right? Anyway.. good ideas... thanks, lindalaw

I have always designed and printed my own Christmas cards, business cards, trading cards, birthday cards, etc.

And I can find the best quality paper and for the cards at minimal price. $22.50 is too much!!! It worths to design and print them on your own.

TOO expensive...I just printed a card through Walgreens 40 for $20 and I used our Wishing Tree and wrote my own greeting...I was planning to insert a printed copy of the poem the wishing tree in with the card. They look absolutely beautiful. You could do the same thing, if not Walgreens then another site using your book cover if you like and write your own greeting. Just a thought. Love and hugs, Bonnie
