I'm tying not to post too many things out there. Being an author is a hard job to do. I'm beginning to think that I need to do something else instead. Writing takes up my time and is not too rewarding. Plus the fact that I still have a day-time job, so my writing time are only in my spare time slot. I don't get to much time in writing. Producing the few books I had was just a spur of a moment thing!!

Well, I will still continue to write, but not as much as I have been doing. In some days I actually had to stay up 'til 4:30 a.m. in the morning to paint, draw, and write. But when I announced my books to my friends, I get very little response. I'm not slaving myself anymore for anyone.

Here's what I understand: All we have posted at different websites are ours and we hold or are entitled to the copyright. An entity has to buy copyright privileges, otherwise they stay with the true author. In many cases it is true that if you post first on the Net, other publishers will not consider your works. They usually state this position in their submissions guidelines. Others, a minority, do not care how many times you publish a particular item. They will also use it. It isn't true that works posted on the Net are not published. They are published. You just didn't get paid. In your particular case, I also don't see any problem with your using works that are yours in several places, including one of your books. Anyway, my 2 cents'...

They are and always will be your writings! Do what you feel and suggestions are always nice...but follow your heart! Even if you remove your writings from AD, they stay in the minds and hearts of all your fans here!!!

Linda AD does not pay you for what you post so the work remains your own, I choose to remove my latest book that is being published but it was my choice, your work remains yours so the choice is yours

The wonderful work which you have already posted at the Den is yours to do whatever you like with! If you choose to add some to your new book, to the best of my knowledge you are not violating any copyright laws.

Your words are always yours Linda. I would not remove them from the Den and lose my reviews. As John said I always register my poetry to myself and it never gets opened just in case. I also keep a copy of all my writes for myself. Take care and good luck linda.

To my knowledge work posted on the den is not published work for their is no payment involved and we actually are paying to use this site so what we chose to do with our works is up to us and sometimes the publisher we send them to.

You will lose your reviews if you remove them from AD, you own them no matter what you do, I don't see any reason to remove them from the site but it must be your decision. Lots of reviews to lose my friend so really think about it. Love and hugs, Bonnie

Whether you file a copyright or not...once your works are published.. You have first use and they are yours. Actually, once your "Pen hits the paper" you own all copy rights. Cheapest way to copyright your works is to print the out and mail them to yourself. Don't open the envelope... courts recognize U.S. postal cancelation dates. If your works are already on the net, publishers won't touch your work? Good publishers will publish what is good and what sells. Good Luck, Linda
