What a wonderful idea Linda, I sure wish I had some answers as I have two novels written and nine books of poetry put together. Wish I could be of some help. Good luck.

I for one am very pleased with my experience with Publish America and am using them for my upcoming novel which at this point after five years of work may well turn out to be a novella. *smile*
PA has seen to it that my book of poetry and short stories is available through all the major book sellers at various prices.
The negative part about PA is if you expect to get rich off your publication you won't with them. They pay very low royalties. That doesn't bother me. I used them solely because I'm against self-publishing/vanity presses, and honestly, I can't afford it.
It all boils down to: "To each his own taste, said the old lady as she kissed the cow."

Hi Linda, I completely agree with Felix. Stay away from Publish America. They charge you nothing to publish--making you feel like you've been accepted but then they over-price your book to the point that you cannot even purchase your own copies and make any profit. I chose Winepress/Pleasant Word next and although I am not completely satisfied--at least, they are a Christian publisher and great to work with. I could easily purchase my own books,make them available at speaking engagements and make a profit! I hope this helps! blessings to you my friend! Frances

I have had three books published, one by Publish America and two by local publishers in my home city. These local publishers pay for all book signings, printing, press releases ensuring that books are entered into any contests and also pay you royalties on all book sales twice yearly. Publishers such as Lulu, Publish America or any comppany that charges the author are normally considered vanity presses and though they do often pay royalties it seldom amounts to what the writer has paid the. There is also self publishing and if you are good at promotion and marketing it may be a better option...a printing company will give you a flat rate according to the number of copies you order from them but it is still up to you to promote.
I guess the thing we as writers must decide is how much we want to see our books on the bookstore shelves.
Hope this is not taken the wrong way but this is just what I have found from my own experience here in Canada.
