Dear Linda,

Our days are marked by violence and godlessness, in these times, what can parents do? I read a book by Stormie Omartian "The Power of a Praying Parent" and it was what held me and my children through the storms of life. The difference now, America's enemies are vent on destroying America from within - through drugs. Violence as inhuman as these do not occur if the
perpetrators have not "sniffed" cocaine
to get "high" and the energy to do it comes from the addiction. To stab a person 58 times is not normal, only a drugged person can do it. Trace the countries that grow these opium sources
and you'll know who really grows them to destroy the youth of the whole world.

When we pray for our children, God keeps His word. That is the only thing we can do now.

Good parents and good homes are out there; sometimes it takes more than that! Peer pressure is so different these days; and alot of todays youth has lost the love and compassion of generations before... There is a coldness in todays society...children and adults alike. Many parents do care for their children, and try very hard to keep them close, but sometimes it doesn't happen..altho you are right about many falling into this category too. I suppose I just take difference with something I've heard many times over the years..."The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree"....always meant in negative ways... and not always true. A parent can have five kids, and each be as diff as day or nite...all raised with the same love and teachings! Anyway...I'm really sorry about what happened to your child. That had to be very tragic for her to see something so horrible; so I wish you and her the best...let her talk and watch over her closely. lindalaw

I do believe those bad ones with guns don't realize what their future is. They don't realize prisons are waiting, that even death is to be for some of them. Their parents must not care for them or what happens to them either. It is getting so bad in the cities, it isn't safe to go even in day time. God help our youth they need his help desparately. Only a good home and good parents will prove their survival.
