She was talking to a wacko audience. Her ideas are shared by the other wackos. But when she gets out of her wacko group, into the real world, her ideas will be seen as wacko.
She'll have to be carefully scripted (as she was in the convention), so she doesn't continue to make wacko remarks to real people.
It will be fine if she continues to speak only to her wacko sub-group. But if her real beliefs (Alaska must secede from the United States) are heard, she will be rejected.
