Brutal scenes like the bird chase sometimes can take away the beauty of nature for a moment. I once had a sad moment where I accidentally walked an Alaskan Huskie thorugh an area where I knew there were rabbits. Although I loved that dog, I felt pretty put off when the dog dug up a bunny, and the bunny's screams were heartbreaking.

I love not only the intimacy of the breakfast setting you paint but also the interaction of the world outside with you and your hubbys lifes.

I can identify, Rosemarie. I've had the same problem with a hawk. The only solution seems to be stop feeding for a while and the hawk will start looking elsewhere.
