speaking of only, have you thought about the uses for, around? -- I have been in establishments that sell only coats, and only sell coats too! -- Great piece here Reg -- God bless -- JMW

Hi Reg.... I had to smile at your blog..altho surely what u say is valid...however... unless you have ever been told these words..."YOU ARE THE ONLIEST woman/man ? I've ever loved" the word "only" loses it's lonely only status! I found that many in some southern areas, have no idea that "only" is ONLY... THEY think that ONLIEST is best! so there! Besides, "look" is "yuuke" in some areas too.. guess Languished Linguistics is too literary for moi'

REG - good 'poop'! <--- and just look at those two words.

'good' is poog upside down and flipped -
and 'poop' is dood upside down, whether flipped or not!

Reg, only if you are sincere we can say that we believe only in you, the only thing that bothers us is that only a naìve person will think that the only reason to believe in that only statement of you are because you had only that to say.

Yes, languages are fascinating! I, too, love to explore their many "quirks", it's a very enriching exercise - and... I'm sure that I've also commited many "linguistic atrocities", even in my native language, LOL!
(I haven't been around much, either, dear Regis, but it's good to see you, and I hope all is going well with you and yours, too!)

Yes, words can have many meanings by the way you use them...Good to see you back, there are so many people not around, it's like a ghost town here on the Den..I miss all the peeps.

Gosh! a reminder of some of the things i don'd know when writing :-(
I need to get a book that tells me about this kind of thing. Actually, i have been looking at Writers Digest 101 best websites for 2008. Maybe I will find one that has this kind of info.
