I had no idea this was happening to you until now, so I thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. I will be careful in future with my social networking, but honestly, it really is a jungle out there. Writers need to take as professional an approach to marketing/promotion as they do their writing. As we've seen too many times on other social networks, too many writers are doing neither. It's frustrating and sad.

I would like to say that I have gotten to know Lorna Suzuki- through Twitter and emails, and reading her books. She is one of the most helpful writers I know. It is really sad to hear that people expect 'like' returns for help-- I know some do, but it is sad.

Some people just don't realize how much time it takes to write, edit and finalize a manuscript and some really don't care. They just want their 'just do'.

This is a great article and I'm glad you've brought some of the problems to light. Writers suffer for the hard, long efforts they put into writing a novel and it hurt us all when a few writers won't take the time to put out a quality product. Have your work edited. And if some one with writing experience offers the truth about problems-- listen and thank them.

Many writers do help on another and as I try, I find that helping without expectations is so rewarding-- give it a try.
