What a great article, Lorna. I agree with most everything you've said. There may come a day when Amazon rules the book sells of us all. It's actually already happened to some extent when you look at overall sells.
The one thing you mentioned is the number of books you had downloaded. That in itself is a major plus to independent writers. Getting readers to see your work. The real key is what you've already done: publish a number of books. I think KDP Prime isn't a good thing for those who write one book, but it is a way to get your name out there and hopefully a spark of interest in an authors other books.
This gives me much to think about. Thank you.
