What a great post, Lorna. Readers truly are the life's blood of a writer and should be given respect and a professional story. BTW, I love your writing.
I've always said reviews are a learning experience for a writer-- yes, we all enjoy the good reviews.
Even bad ones are good in helping us refine our skills. Up until the other day I have only received one 2 star review and it made sense from the readers view and I took it as being helpful. I just got a 1 star review for my most popular book and the reviewer was well spoken but trashed my book with no real reason except he hated it. I must say it hurt, but it was honest. I responded-- like you, I answwr everyone that takes the time to contact me-- with a thank you and no harshness. It made me feel better. I even suggested he read my new thriller, Ha. Like that's going to happen.
Lorna, you write such thoughtful post and I can see the caring in your voice. Keep it up!
