Achieve your New Year’s Resolution by taking that first step: learn how to pitch, query, and land a literary agent! Literary Agent DongWon Song will help us kick off 2017, and get your New Year on the right track, on January 3rd, at 7:00PM at the Historic Old Church in downtown Portland. DongWon will give us all the details on how to pitch and query, and even a little bit about what comes next. DongWon is an engaging speaker, with a diverse range of knowledge about the publishing industry. He is sure to provide thoughtful tips and suggestions that you can put right into action. About DongWon Song He has worked in the industry for the past ten years as an agent and editor. As an editor, he worked at Orbit, an Imprint of Hachette. Now, he is an agent at Howard Morhaim Literary Agency representing science fiction, fantasy, YA, science, food, and pop-culture. He just recently opened his list to Middle Grade authors as well. DongWon’s client list includes numerous well known sci-fi and fantasy authors, as well as authors who are pushing the literary horizon. The Details DongWon Song will join Willamette Writers PDX at the Historic Old Church in Portland, Oregon on January 3rd. Doors open at 6:30 PM. The meeting begins at 6:45 PM with the Willamette Writers board election (current Willamette Writers members can vote). The program begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 8:15 PM. Come early to make new connections, and stay late to chat about the new possibilities of 2017. Portland Chapter Willamette Writers meetings are free to members; $5.00 for guests.
