Muscat, January 10: Former Minister of Electricity, Government of Kerala, Shri. S. Sharma inaugurated Keralothsavam 2003 Arts/Literary Competitions at Indian Social Club, Muscat, premises on 9th January 2003.
As part of Keralothsavam 2003, to be held in April 2003, Indian Social Club Kerala Wing conducted Arts/Literary Competitions on 9th and 10th January 2003.
While Light music, Drama Songs, Nadan Pattu and Elocution were the events of 9th Thursday, those were Pencil Drawing, Painting, Short story writing, Essay Writing, Poem Writing, Recitation, Mappilappattu and Mono act were the events of 10th Friday.
“Jeevitha Kathayude Oru Adhyam Evide Avasanikkunnu” (A Chapter of life story ends here), and “Prakrithiyil Nashtappetta Oru Dhivasam” (A day lost in nature) respectively were the subjects for short story writing and Poem writing competitions.
For essay writing competition, the subjects were “Keralathile Jalasrothassukal Vilppana Cheyyunnathinte Dharmikathaye Ningal Angine vilayiruthunnu” (How do you evaluate the morality involved in the sale of water resources in Kerala) for adults, “Nalaye Prathinidheekarikkunna Oru Pauran Enna Nilayil Paristhithi Samrakshanathinu Ningal Ethra Pradhannyam Nalkunnu?” (As a citizen representing tomorrow, how much importance do you give for the protection of ecology?) for seniors, and “Ningalkkariyavunna oru purana kathayeyo kathapathratheyo kurichu swantham bhashayil avatharippikkuka” (Present an epic story or character that known to you in your own language) for juniors.
A number of adults and Indian School students in Oman participated in the arts/literary competitions.
