Author Nan Turner's fifth and final book in the Rose series, "Rose's Song," was released this month and will be available at a book signing from 3-5 today at Book Ends on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach

Nan Turner is the pen name of local author Darlene Eichler of North Myrtle Beach.

"I'm real excited about this one," Eichler said, "I say it's going to be he last one.  Everyone says it's not but it is."

The Rose series introduces readers to a 12-year-old Melungeon girl living in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Because of their dark skin and smetimes different features, the Melungeons, .......ended up in the Applachian Mountains of Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee, where they were safe...........Her books have readers of all ages.  Three readers, sisters from Simpsonville, are fans.  The two older girls, Christen Williamson, 12, and Madison Williamson, 11, have read the first four books and are anxiously awaiting, "Rose's Song.

Eight-year-old Sarah Grace Williamson said her father reads to her from the books.

Doris Pollock of North Myrtle beach said Eichler carried the story from one book to another in a way that you wanted to read the next one.
