Throughout the country an increasing aging population has been stereotyped, pigeonholed, and targeted with an ideology, "once retired, what's there to do besides play golf and go to doctor's appointments"? The answer is "there is lots to do, plus lots more!" A senior program designed and facilitated by Maryland resident Terri Allen, is the model for a senior's program template now available online to organizers, recreation professionals, ministry leaders, and senior citizen's program directors. 

A boomer herself, the native New Yorker designed CUSP (Communities United Senior Program) in 2006 and presented her template concepts and strategies at the NRPA (Recreation and Parks Association) national conference. The program was very well-received by hundreds of recreation professionals because Allen's own vision for a successful senior program was realized in less than 3 months when her own senior's program grew by over 200%. It proved her revolutionary ideas could be a force of energy to be reckoned with and could be the template for success utilized throughout the United States.    

"Baby Boomers are on the cusp [thus the name] of mature adulthood, but they do not have to act that way", Allen believes.

She found a way to share her program ideas to communities, municipalities, religious organizations, parks & recreation facilities, churches, and non-profit groups by consulting and making the template available to help bring other programs to fruition. Allen continued by stating,

"CUSP is a template program for organizers who desire to have a senior's program for baby boomers, active adults, retirees, and mature adults; one that is full of vim, vigor, and vitality!"
