Janet I. Buck is one of ten U.S. poets to be featured at The United Nations Exhibit Hall in New York City. Her poem "Acrylic Thighs" was translated into five languages and paired with original artwork by Ms. Adela Ramirez. It is now on tour around the world.
The "One Heart-One World Exhibit" is designed to fine-tune awareness concerning the plights and triumphs of the disabled. Sponsors of the event flew Janet and her husband to New York for the opening ceremonies, where she was interviewed at length by television and radio stations around the globe. Video footage of the event is available at the NHK site. The New York exhibit received over 3,000 visitors a day.
