Lizzie Perkins is about to be married to Ryan Denlinger, but dreams about her father's accidental death 17 years ago plague her, becoming more vivid and troubling as the wedding approaches.
Lizzie's fiance has also experienced several life-threatening events in the few weeks prior to the big day.
With the reopening of the old investigation, it appears that her father's death and Ryan's "accidents" may, in fact, be related.
What will Lizzie do?
Only Paula Blevins knows for sure.
Perkins and Denlinger are main characters in Book I of a new series of Christian suspense books called "The For Hymn Mysteries," written by Blevins. Columbus serves as the backdrop for the four-book series.
"The Way Home" was released Jan. 24 and should hit bookshelves in locally anytime, Blevins said. The novel is inspired in part by the hymn "Amazing Grace."
The remaining three books in the series are also inspired by hymns.
Blevins, who is originally from Pataskala, now resides in Gallia County with her husband David and their three children.
In addition to her writing, she also teaches at Ohio Valley Christian School.
"I never liked reading as a child," Blevins said. "But I loved to write. My mother has been a great supporter of mine. She kept all of my old stories and she really inspired me to begin writing."
Blevins said that many of her friends and fellow teachers also encouraged her to pursue writing.
"They kept telling me that God has given me this gift and I need to use it, and I started to believe them," she said.
But with a husband, career and three children, how does she find time to write?
"I catch 20 minutes her, 30 minutes there, sometimes while my son is napping beside me," she said. "And my husband has sent me away for the weekend several times so I could be by myself and write."
Those weekend trips have turned into another possible series, Blevins said, involving a couple that runs a bed and breakfast and the people that enter their lives.
"I try to pull ideas from actual events and ask 'What if?'" she added.

Local retailers The Alcove, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Willa's Bible Bookstore and Good News Bible Book Store, as well as Bossard Memorial Library, should receive copies soon.
