Elizabeth (Lizzie) Perkins is about to be married to Ryan Denlinger, but dreams about her father’s accidental death 17 years ago plague her, becoming more vivid and troubling as the wedding approaches. Her fiancé has also experienced several life-threatening events in the few weeks prior to the big day.
Was her father’s death an accidental insulin overdose as it first appeared? Or, could there be something more? Will Lizzie be able to determine the cause of Ryan’s accidents? And, will she be able to solve the mystery surrounding her father’s death before she says, ‘I do’?
Perkins and Denlinger are the main characters in Book I of a new series of Christian suspense books in The For Hymn Mystery Series written by Paula F. Blevins.
The Way Home, set in Columbus, Ohio, is the first book in this series of four. A different verse of Amazing Grace is used for each part. The other books in the series will use a different hymn in a similar fashion. Two of the characters introduced in the first book will become the main characters in the next.
Blevins, who is originally from Pataskala, now resides in Gallipolis, Ohio with her husband David and their three children. In addition to her writing, she also volunteers as a Spanish teacher at a local elementary school.
When asked where she gets ideas for her books, she replies, “I try to pull ideas from actual events and ask, ‘What if?’”
Blevins will be available for a book sale and signing during the bake sale at the Pataskala Public Library, on Saturday, April 26, 2003 between 10am and 2pm. At noon, she will speak about her book, future projects, and answer any questions. The Friends of the Pataskala Public Library are sponsoring this event.
"The Way Home" is currently available at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and publishamerica.com. Blevins can be reached by visiting www.paulafblevins.com or www.authorsden.com/paulafblevins.
