Mark Reed holds fast to his family traditions. Those of honor, virtue, truthfulness, and faith. His belief in those things has never wavered until now. He is accused of adultery, and his wife, Elizabeth, has left him. He now must appear in the courthouse at Reedsville, where he faces a divorce hearing in front of his lifelong friends and family.   

In the corner of the courtroom sat a man in silence, unnoticed. Basil Whitfield was jotting down names and dates. He was troubled by what was happening to his friends, the Reeds. Keyed by Leroy’s prodding, Basil launches an investigation that would resurrect old legends in the intel world and reach halfway around the world in search of answers.
