A thread may be all that you think you've got at the initiation of a creative task when being overwhelmed with life's factors. But that thread may be your very life source and can be your very cable to energy and hope. Better for the downcast to grab it as it dangles, a mere thought of chance to take.

Threads. What could they be? Any source of creative outlet when dealing with a mountain of issues can unleash a hidden vigor inside as yet unseen by the bearer. This is a hard task, once grabbed in mind, to initiate and start production. But if you can grapple through the difficulty of beginning the task you will find considerable reward in viewing beauty built at your own hands. The reward of seeing beauty, of hearing artistic expression, on viewing another's pleasure, or benefiting through your own work will feed on itself to offset the factors which threaten you. Once this beauty is owned as your own, you may increase its bounty repeatedly, thereby breaking the vicious cycle of victimization.
Let's look at some possibilities for threads. Recently, while awash in a series of hospital visits and life's trap doors, I remembered that I once enjoyed crocheting. “Aha!” I thought. Though still disabled through pain and constant bed rest, I began a small project which instantly gave me pleasure at the prettiness unfolding before my eyes. The essence of survival naturally increased as I strove to increase that prettiness I was viewing and the project was completed in record time. At this time, I am working surprisingly, on project number two.
Another high source for many can be the making of music. Though this requires a certain discipline, the effort given in physical outlet releases a bodily tension and creates artistic beauty within all in one movement. This in turn is given out to any hearer, especially the performer, namely, one's self. This thread of creativity requires more tenacity than some, but the high reward is abundant and constant.
Simple gardening and building of flowerbeds can give a person long-lasting pleasure which will reside daily and take root at each glance. This in turn will nourish your soul and well being which, in turn, will increase your capacity to deal with life's struggles.
Visiting and thinking of neighbors should not be forgotten. The reward of seeing another person's smile and comfort from having been thought of are contagious and will be like fertilizer to your spirit.
These threads of creativity can be complete lifesavers when dangling as mere thought. The most difficult task is to start the process. Keep in mind that you will never ‘feel like' taking this thread, but must act out of sheer determination. In looking back though, you will be counting your lucky stars.
