There are 10,000 graphic designers in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, but not many are sign designers.  Graphic designers design on a 2-dimensional plane mostly for print and web media.  Sign designers design for a 3-dimensional environment and are required to know material and fabrication, along with other aspects to having a sign installed in the real world.

Most designers believe they can design signs.  This is a prevalent myth believed by most graphic designers.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

As one graphic designer said, "Creating a logo and graphics is simply, design. Designing a sign is designing a creation."
