Late on the third night as the horses lay dying, a bright light in the shape of a glowing horse with wings appeared hovering above the barn's rear gate. The light slowly decended into the middle aisle, landing gently as the radiating glow faded, revealing a brilliant white horse with thick silky wings.

From that day forward the announcer's words would always re-play in her mind. "The number two horse, Trouble, a complete unknown, has just eclipsed the previous track record set by Victory Daze ten years ago. In fact, Trouble may have set a new world record for a mile and a quarter winning by thirty-two lengths in one minute fifty eight and four fifth seconds. What a day! What a horse."
