So...I've been a veracious reader since I was 8 years old. That is also when I started writing.

I can look over my 1st book I published in 2007: "Pathos In My Pocket" and cringe because it needs serious editing. I learned a valuable lesson when paying an outside editor...you still need to copyedit your book yourself. I can also see where my writing skills just keep getting better. There is no comparison:  my 1st book as opposed to my 5th book.

However, there is a movement within the publishing community, and within reviewers on Amazon, that force writers to get into pigeon holes. I refuse to submit to their control freakery and I refuse to believe that they actually know what they are talking about. Take multiple POV's for instance. Have you ever read a book with only 1 POV? Boring! It is very rare that 1 POV can be pulled off to be interesting enough to read. Also, there have been many famous literature pieces with multiple POV's; the Great Gatsby being one of them.

I like to use multiple 3rd person POV's and I'm not going to change my style of writing to qualify for some publisher who wouldn't know an interesting book if it bit them in the ass!

On a separate note, if you are selling on Amazon or buying on Amazon, you need to be aware that the review process has gotten way out of hand...it is actually half past being way out of hand. Amazon's official reviewers think that it is their job to trash everybody's stuff. At first I thought it was just me, but then I did some research and 99% of what they review, they give horrible scores to. It really irks me that Amazon has allowed it to get to this point. From this point forward, I will not give any credibility to any Amazon review for anything.
