Scriptural account of what God expects from us and contemporary examples of how to apply His biblical instruction to our lives.
I am reminded of a story that I once heard about Frank Loyd Wright. Most of us are familiar with this famous architect. He was born in June of 1867 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. For more than 70 years, Frank Lloyd Wright showed people new ways to build homes and see the world around them. He created some of the most intimate spaces in America. He was famous for such places as Falling Waters and the Hagan House. The story goes that he was out walking one winter day with his uncle. After crossing a field the uncle stopped then turned around and pointed at the two sets of tracks that they had both left in the snow. The uncle had reportedly admonished Wright because his tracks veered from place to place without any apparent focus or direction. He then compared the boys tracks with his own that were straight and unwavering. Wright had determined from that point forward that he would never be like his uncle and walk a straight path. In spite of Wright’s romantic notion it is obvious that he completely missed his dear uncles point. The world will absolutely consume us with relentless distractions. Matthew 7:14 points out; Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
