As Christmas approached the Victorian’s had a tradition called ‘Stir Up Sunday’. This was held to be the day when that year’s Christmas pudding was made. A family event, it was considered good luck for everyone to stir the pudding mix – clockwise with their eyes shut or the wish wouldn’t come true.
