The National Multicultural Writers Association (NMWA) sponsored a book give away June 4, 2016.  Children brought their parents to the event. Books of all description were available just for the taking.

Under the leadership of President Thomasena Martin-Johnson, this is the third year   NMWA sponsored this event. The first year, the group gave more than 12 boxes of books to the Millwood, Schoool Library. The second year, they gave over 300 books to about 150 visitors.

This year, the crowd was smaller but we still gave away more than 100 books to children mostly.

The books were donated by libraries, Insurance companies, and individual people through out the metro area.

This project was initiated by NMWA to promote literacy and to encourage young  children to read. The motto is "Every Child Need His/Her Own Book".

NMWA accepts donations of new and gently used books. This year, we had some from as far away as Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
