SO many books today (especially for teens) tend to have a "gimmick-y" plot and absolutely NO character development whatsoever. I try to find and read novels that I can recommend to my children and to other parents and teachers. Across the Pond definitely met all of my criteria. First of all, Fred and Brit are very likeable, but even more importantly, they are very believable. The story has great messages and the dialog is superb.
Ash wishes he has a tough big brother to fight his battles for him, until his wish comes true.
Who is Big Brother and why is he so keen to help Ash? Does Big Brother have an agenda of his own?
Cherry doesn't know him from Adam, so is he real or is he fake?
