Confessions of an Assassin is the story of a privileged girl from New York who dreams of being Southern. Her decision to ignore the family’s history with Ivy League Schools proves to be a disaster in many ways. Still, Catherine attends a southern university and purchases the home of her dreams in the south upon graduation. She loves her life in a beautiful historical home in Eufaula, Alabama. There she establishes an art gallery and is easily accepted by the community.

 

Her life changes innocently when a college acquaintance  continuously surfaces. Catherine snickers at Frank’s statement that he attends Washington galas regularly with a secret government agency. He invites her to accompany him. The young woman is hooked. The thrill of this group intrigues “Cat.” She looks forward to more invitations. Eventually, she is invited to join. It all seems so commonplace by now. 

 

One of the “marks” of this agent, Catherine, is a Muslim named Farid. He is handsome and well-connected. They fall in love. Farid takes the enchanting Catherine to his homes all over the world. Their plan is to marry in Bali, Indonesia. Miss Carnegie’s dreams are coming true until Frank arrives in Bali. He tells Catherine that the group will dissolve her relationship if she performs one more act. Their request is ludicrous but they threaten her family’s life. She must decide between the life of her lover or that of her niece and nephew.
