Early in 2015, I suffered a catastrophic kidney failure. I was clinically dead for ten minutes. I recovered, but it took two weeks in critical care. Now, I face a long recovery and the real prospect I could be gone for good in the next minute.
I suppose I could surrender to all this and effectively give up living. But that's not my style. I am more determined than ever to first, comtinue to set high goals and second, to continue my creative ideas and projects.
For example, this summer I've completed two new novels, PERIPETEIA and STRANGE RIVERS. I also have three others I'm working on. In addition, I'm developing a major film project based on my novel, TIGERLAND. I have the screenplay completed (ReFrAD) and I'm actively seeking skilled creative partners to help me get this produced. I've been in contact with The Motion Picture Institute outside Detroit. This is a top level organization and I envision great things!
Another project: I don't know how much of my heatlh and vitality I can regain. I'm not young anymore, so this is mostly conjecture, positive and negative. But I want to create a personal video blog which will chronicle my efforts. Again, I need some help.
I'm a fairly good writer with a long list of finished works (WWW.lulu.com/hobopoet) but I don't think I have time to master film and video. This is a completely new art form.
Here's my point: I need your support! Are you an experienced fillm and video producer? Or, do you know of one I can contact?
The premise behind all this is quite simple...I can LIVE, to the fullest extent possible, or I can NOT-LIVE. For me, the choice is obvious.
Please let me know what you think!
Thank you!
Alan
