Chicago Chick - takes a sad girl to sing a sad song

Mainstream
Publishing again after years of hibernating. Just love to write.

I thought my publishing era was over when suddenly the #metoo movement surfaced. I recalled a ten year old manuscript in my drawer that connect to the issue; at least the chapter 'when bubbles burst' does. The rest of the book too circles around the subject in various ways, though not from a reporter's or a scientific angle. Just part of the story.

It may appear awkward that a male writer involves a theme like this but to me the #metoo is not only a gender problem. It's not even about sex; it's about assault and violence. Bullies are nothing but bullies. This is probably the oldest abuse problem in the history of mankind. I wrote this story eight years before #metoo emerged. The issue has been in people's mind for centuries.

The book involves a lot of other turns and twists; I just find it peculiar that I so naturally wrote about a woman being pressed into a corner by a wanted rapist.

The story is not meant as a contribution to the #metoo debate; I just want to mention the coincidental element.
