How to Write a Persuasive Essay to Get MBA Scholarship

Scholarship essays are popular medium to ensure the finance of the entire MBA program, so it is requisite that you are able to write a perfect essay following some simple guidelines.

For any scholarship essay, the objective is one and simple – convince the selection committee that you are really capable to own that particular scholarship. Therefore it is imperative that everyone should be capable of writing a winning essay that catches the attention of the MBA selection committee into accepting the scholarship application. 

However, for most of the MBA students it is easier said than done. No matter what institution organizes this scholarship, you must have a plan for writing your essay. It is not good enough to simply write what comes first in your head and put it back into writing. Even students with great writing abilities need to plan their statement and afterwards get it edited.

Scholarship essays are highly subjective in nature. Following some useful guidelines, the process will seem less hectic and more a prolific task.

Analyze the Essay Question

Before you start writing, the first thing you need to do is to make sure that you understand your essay question properly. But this is not simply about understanding the question or prompt – analyze the question and try to comprehend what they want so you can respond likewise. For instance, questions about your field of interest are to measure your zeal for your subject and how well you can excel in that particular subject.

Research the Contributor of the Scholarship

Often the foundations, schools and others who are giving way the scholarships have some principles ​​that drive them into granting the scholarship. If you are really after the scholarship then seeking to impress them is the core objective. For this you’ll have to find some key terms and the fundamental values ​​they use customarily and embed those ideas and values into your essay.

Outline the Essay before Writing

A minutely crafted outline is a writing-map for your essay which will keep you from being lost in the middle. Jot down each of the points you want to encompass in response to the question, with some notes on how you will make these points illustrate further. Determine what will be the best order for all your paragraphs and write it too.

Boast that you are Unique from the Rest

Many students competing for the same scholarship have the same background which means that being noticeable in the crowd is vital, and the requirement of the essay is the perfect opportunity to do so. Show the selection committee for the scholarship how exceptional you truly are by telling them a unique personal story of self-determination.

Acknowledge your Shortcomings

Also acknowledge in your essay that you do posses some shortcomings and this approach will make you more humane and sensible. However, do not forget to mention why these weaknesses are not obstacles. Describe how you have overcome your weaknesses and that have made you more promising and competent.

Rewrite and Proofread

Make your essay perfect by rewriting it as many times as it requires. Proofread your paper and look for grammar and spelling mistakes, tense problems, or even sentences that are inappropriate. If you have access to words, make a wise use out of them. Have space to allow the progression of the main argument. Your essay is not engrossed into a single point; soar as high as possible using your imagination and determination.
