Blondie L. Clayton was ready for an alternative treatment after twenty-five years of early morning bouts of sneezing , running nose escalating to earache, sore nose and inconvenience, not to mention dust, pet hair, bleach and floral scent triggers.
“I dreaded visiting environments that might be dusty, or families who had pets. If I knew ahead of time, I could prepare by taking over the counter formulas; otherwise, I suffered through,” says Blondie.
Determined at times not to take the medications, after the mucus sucking turned into snorting, Frank her husband teased often: “Why don’t you just take something.” Some days she would give in, other times she would let it go untreated.
While visiting their oldest son, who has a cat, she was awakened at 4:30 a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep. Almost immediately she began sneezing, followed by a non-stop runny nose, which she blew to no relief. A few minutes passed with her questioning whether she should reach for her travel case that contained the medicine-- instead, she began to pray: “God, there has to be a better way. Show me what to do to solve this problem”.
Her first prototype was created from paper towel. Two months later it evolved into the Heaven Sent Runny Nose Sponge (a cotton filled cube). Clayton was surprised that the cube not only absorbed mucus, reducing the stress on her ears and the body but it forced her to breathe deeper as well. The greatest benefit has been her ability to control dust, pet hair, the smell of bleach, and floral scent triggers in a non-medicinal method, with no harmful side affects.
While product patent is pending, the marketing firm of Alix Desulme & Associates is seeking to license companies to manufacture and sell the product.
