Helloo, Friends!
I have some glad news I'd like to share with you today.
Imagine yourself as a struggling author, an author who writes novels editors deem "not commercial enough", but simply refuses to give up, rolls with the punches and each time comes back up on her feet, and then, finally, manages to publish eight novels after a rejection-laden, heart-and-back breaking struggle of 20 years.
(My main body of work is the Click here encompassing -- to date -- 6 published novels, with 4 more to come, a series that is rooted in Turkey, and steeped in its ancient, colorful history, from Catalhoyuk, 8,000 B.C. to the present.)
So, understandably, each thumbs-up, nod, and a smile you receive now, each award, however big or small, each Guest Book entry at your website, makes you feel so grateful that in the privacy of your mind, you watch yourself dancing in the Light.
It was late afternoon on Year's Day, 2007, that I got the salubrious call from author Glenda Ivey, intrepid and enthusiastic owner of Click here as well as International JADA Book Awards, that "Korinna - Daughters of the Fire, I" was awarded Honorable Mention in their competition for 2007.

Well, to be very honest, this was certainly a grand and magical way to begin the new year for me :-)
"Korinna" is related to
Click here Click here which was the 1st Place Winner for Historical fiction, POW! Awards, November 10, 2006 (on my birthday!), but also, like all my novels in my Lands of the Morning Series, Korinna is rooted in Turkey.
Locale and Time: “Korinna – Daughters of the Fire, I,” begins during the first of the three Mithriadic Wars fought between the Kingdom of Pontus and the Republic of Rome for control of Anatolia, from 89 B.C. onward. Ephesus, Sardis and Pergamum, three famous Anatolian cities of Antiquity, provide the stage upon which the novel revolves.
By Roman times, the matriarchal religion of Anatolia had changed, though the female principle was still dominant. The original mother-fertility goddesses were now identified with the love goddesses of Greece and Rome, Aphrodite and Venus.
Korinna, an orphan novice of Artemis, and the “Holy Women” (priestess-prostitutes of Aphrodite) Melitta and Chrysanthé, born during a time of chaotic transition in Anatolian history that pitted not only nation against nation, but parent against child, were truly Daughters of the Fire that had swept this ancient land.
