Presales work to benefit both reader and publisher.
To say it mildly, sales have been brisk since early October, when presales began for bestselling author, J. Robert Whittle's latest book in the Victoria Chronicles, Loyalty's Haven. Christmas Craft shows, website sales - only available on author's site, and phone orders have kept Joyce hopping since their fans found out via two earlier emails that presales were available for the first time for their favourite author's books.
Decidedly a successful and to-be-utilized-again marketing tool, we offered a discounted shipping rate until Nov. 6th (when the books actually arrived). Taking phone orders via credit card only, sales came in from all over Canada, the USA and even England. This greatly aided in spreading sales over a wider time frame leaving the authors to continue their Christmas Shows without the worry of a huge shipping backup.
