Soon to be published as an eBook - Through the Eyes of the Harasser
Friday, April 29, 2005  7:16:00 PM

by Sandi Nipperess

History
Written by Allan C Nipperess, This is a story of a five year tour of duty in the Middle East during WWII as seen by the Author himself.

Allan Nipperess (Nippo) a member of the 450 Squadron RAAF was one of many men to be dubbed a 'Desert Harasser'.

Planes, trains, automobiles and ships – just some of the modes of transport used to move the ‘Desert Harassers’ during World War II.

Come along for the ride when Allan (Nippo) takes us from Australia to the Middle East and back, throughout those troubled years of 1941-1945.

This compelling story tells of the vulnerability of the young men from the R.A.A.F. 450 Squadron, who supported our fighting aircraft from the ground.

Allan's account of his service years brings no surprises to the reader, but one is left thinking about the staunch values that these men brought back with them. Men who, for no other reason but their patriotic duty, fought to save their country from falling into the hands of the enemy, expecting nothing in return.

To this day the bond created during those years has held strong, the remaining members of the 450 Squadron still gathering together for their annual reunions.

‘Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn…’
